Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actress. Also, she sings. As a child, Sara was racially taunted by many people in America. She began to gain confidence in the ninth grade when she appeared in an audition. She received a lot of praise for her singing. This not only increased confidence in herself, but it also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from the Julliard School in New York. She started her professional journey when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. Her most memorable break came from her role as The Lady of The Lake, in the original Broadway version of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her performance. The following year, she appeared on the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. An accomplished singer, she's also produced one single and an extensive work. Additionally, she works as a LGBT activist.
