Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working alongside prominent directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford was a part of two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role as Essie. Some other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
